From SQ and Self-esteem

Are you sure? I have heard other things said about how to increase self-esteem. Many approaches to increasing self-esteem don’t seem to use spiritual intelligence. Would be great if you would elaborate for us.

Why is SQ the source of self-esteem? As you say in your comment, traditional well-known methods of raising self-esteem do not work on SQ principles. Popular methods of raising self-esteem work on raising EQ (emotional intelligence), not on raising SQ (spiritual intelligence). However SQ, rather than EQ, is the source of secure and enduring self-esteem, as explained below:

The Difference between Emotional Intelligence
and Spiritual Intelligence

1. Positivity

As noted above, non-SQ methods of improving self-esteem work on raising EQ. However, raising EQ in the absence of raising SQ still leaves the ego in control. Whatever improvements in self-esteem result from merely raising EQ are therefore only short-term, because they will soon be overlaid and superseded by continued production of dissatisfaction by the ego, which still runs the body and mind in the absence of SQ. Thus EQ has to constantly manage negativity, in the form of low self-esteem, low confidence, self-doubt etc. Whereas SQ pre-empts low self-esteem and low self-confidence, because SQ feels inherent self-esteem and self-confidence. SQ therefore does not need to constantly manage negativity, because spiritual intelligence does not create negativity in the first place.

2. No Struggle with Ego

In the absence of SQ, the ego is still in the driver’s seat. Therefore EQ methods of raising self-esteem are reactive and reparative in nature, because there is a continuous struggle with anti-self-esteem forces inherent in the ego (such as fear, anger, blame, guilt, revenge, dissatisfaction, insufficiency, etc). However, in contrast to EQ, SQ is not in reaction to the ego. SQ transcends the ego without having to struggle with it. SQ is based on source energy prior to modification by the ego. Therefore SQ does not waste energy fighting ego states of reactivity, self-doubt, dissatisfaction, and insufficiency. SQ taps in directly to the inherent qualities and capabilities of the soul. SQ accesses these qualities and capabilities directly, prior to the ego, not by prevailing in a constant struggle with the ego, as is the case with EQ, when SQ is absent. Consequently SQ provides an unqualified foundation for self-esteem that is free of ego-based self-doubt and dissatisfaction, and thereby establishes self-esteem on a firm and enduring footing.

3. Not Threatened

SQ bases self-esteem on your identity at the subject-pole of attention, as the soul. However, in the absence of SQ, EQ bases self-esteem on your experience at the object-pole of attention, as the ego. Therefore EQ-based self-esteem is vulnerable to unpredictable and uncontrollable circumstances at the object-pole of attention. By contrast, SQ-based self-esteem feels the inherent qualities of the soul, which remain the same regardless of the changes at the object-pole of attention. Consequently SQ-based self-esteem is secure and beyond threat.

In the absence of spiritual intelligence,
your emotional intelligence serves your ego.

4. More than a “good ego”

A high level of EQ enables you to feel empathic and compassionate. High EQ therefore enables you to experience the qualities of your higher self, or your soul. However, in the absence of SQ, you are still operating from the ego point of view (identified with your body and mind), even while using high EQ to experience soul qualities. Thus high EQ makes you into a “good ego”. However a good ego is still an ego. Although a good ego can experience the qualities of the soul, nevertheless any ego, even a good ego, lacks the soul’s capabilities.

5. Qualities and Capabilities of the Soul

Spiritual intelligence transcends the false self (ego) by being the true self (soul). Therefore, in addition to experiencing the qualities of the soul, in the form of peace, joy, love, and compassion, SQ also has access to all the capabilities of the soul, in the form of witnessing, ego-less perception, ego-less motives, wisdom, intuition, integrity, inherent self-esteem and creativity, resulting in top performance. Consequently EQ combined with SQ is more powerful than EQ on its own, in the absence of SQ. Thus the essential difference between EQ and SQ is the identity shift from ego to soul, which provides access not only to the qualities of the soul, but also to the soul’s capabilities.

3Q Training

As a powerful combination of three principal dimensions of intelligence, 3Q represents IQ and EQ in association with SQ. Studies in neuroscience reveal that the experience of spiritual intelligence is correlated with hemispheric synchronisation and whole brain activation. The resulting whole-brain coherence optimises brain function and replaces the ego (the false self) with the soul (consciousness itself, the true self) by shifting from the object-pole of attention to the subject-pole of attention, which results in greater fulfilment, increased creativity, sharpened intuition, more empathy and compassion, and improved performance on a wide range of work skills and life skills. If you want to learn more, there is a Course on 3Q Training here.

The SQ paradigm is based on a synthesis combining the wisdom of ancient spiritual traditions with the findings of modern science, as summarised in this article here.

How to Experience Spiritual Intelligence [Video]

Spiritual intelligence is easy to experience. We all experience SQ spontaneously at times. But spontaneous moments of SQ are rare and unpredictable. Therefore it’s important to know how to experience SQ intentionally. When you can engage your spiritual intelligence voluntarily, at any time of your own choosing, SQ becomes your most powerful personal resource. This video provides step-by-step instructions on how to activate SQ intentionally. Watch the video here.

3Q Practitioner Training Course

Do you want to accelerate your own personal and spiritual growth, and teach others to do the same? The 3Q Practitioner Training Course trains and certifies Spiritual Intelligence Practitioners.

Spiritual Intelligence is a higher dimension of intelligence beyond the ego that has access to the advanced capabilities of the true self. This Course is based on secular spirituality not on religious beliefs. Consequently, the methodology used to activate spiritual intelligence is not founded on articles of faith but on experience and knowledge, backed by evidence from related fields of scientific research. Certified Practitioners are provided with the training materials to coach their clients in spiritual intelligence, and conduct workshops in spiritual intelligence for leaders and organisations, and for the general public.

As the intelligence of the true self beyond the ego, spiritual intelligence (SQ) has many benefits that exceed the scope of intellectual intelligence (IQ) and emotional intelligence (EQ). Spiritual intelligence relieves anxiety and depression and the extreme pain of meaninglessness and despair that is often associated with ego states of awareness. Freedom from ego, as experienced with SQ, grants wisdom and clarity of vision, combined with more empathy and compassion, which increases creativity and intuition, and results in greater personal fulfilment and better performance on important life skills and work skills. Spiritual intelligence therefore represents the most powerful resource for personal and professional growth and fulfilment.

Widespread adoption of spiritual intelligence as a personal code of conduct raises the standard of accountability in collective governance, in response to public demand. When standards in governments and corporations are based on spiritual intelligence, the energy of love will turn into a social and political force, as never before in history. Public training in spiritual intelligence therefore heralds a new era of human rights and social justice, which form the foundation for global cooperative community, shared prosperity, and world peace.

As a 3Q Practitioner you will be equipped to introduce spiritual intelligence in the context of contemporary secular culture, and contribute to the next stage in the evolution of collective consciousness. When a tipping point is reached, the emerging next stage of collective consciousness will result in global transformation, founded not on beliefs of any sort, or on government control, or on mass media narratives enforced by censorship of contrary views, but founded instead on the inherent qualities of consciousness itself, such as love, wisdom, and peace, which everyone can experience by activating their spiritual intelligence.
