Second Millennium organisations are destroying the planet in a blind greed for profit at any cost. Even if the result is the utter destruction of the biosphere, Second Millennium organisations don’t care.
They have no capacity to care about such matters. They are unrelenting psychopathic machines of profit with no conscience. Meeting income targets is the only goal that matters to them.
Second Millennium Business Paradigm
The Second Millennium Business paradigm [1] is based on scientific materialism, which is the view that everything and everybody is fundamentally material and mortal and inherently meaningless. It is to be expected that such a nihilistic worldview leads to exploitation and greed, with no regard to ethics or to the damaging consequences for the environment and for the community.
Second Millennium organisations are inherently unsustainable. They must be stopped. They will not stop of their own accord. “Yes, the planet got destroyed, but for a beautiful moment in time we created a lot of value for shareholders.” (Tom Torro). Second Millennium organisations will continue to destroy the earth until we act to stop them.
And when we act as one, one human family, we will stop them. We will build a new world and a new world economy based on equal respect for everybody. Third Millennium organisations are the bridge to the new sustainable world economy.
Third Millennium Business
Third Millennium organisations are of any size and they maximise value to human life and to all stakeholders, ahead of maximising profit exclusively for shareholders.
The stakeholders in a company include not only shareholders, but also employees, customers, suppliers, the wider community, the environment, nature, and the global human family. Third Millennium organisations exist to serve, but not simply to serve themselves. They exist to serve the entire world community.
Third Millennium Business Paradigm
The Third Millennium Business paradigm [2] is based on post-materialist science, which is replacing the scientific materialism of the previous millennium. Post-materialist science [3] fosters positive values such as compassion, respect, care, love, and peace, because it promotes an awareness of the deep interconnection between ourselves and each other and nature at large.
When third millennium business replaces second millennium business, the energy of love will turn into a social and political force, as never before in history. Widespread training in spiritual intelligence therefore heralds a new age of human rights and social justice, which are the foundations of shared prosperity and peace.
